The Self has always been free The Self is always awake Right

The Self has always been free. The Self is always awake. Right? This is really a nasty question. If I say “yes”, then you will think there is nothing to realize and remain stuck in suffering. If I say “no”, that is not correct and limitations on the Self could be inferred. You see…it is not as simple as saying “the Self has always been free.” While true, the question is do you feel free? Also, are you free from suffering? If you do not feel free and are not free of suffering, then you are not awake and are not free.

However, it is a figment of your imagination. An illusion of the mind. You are hypnotized…and oferty pracy chocianów ogłoszenia hence asleep…within a prison of your own thoughts. As long as the illusion is attached to and believed…it is a delusion of being trapped and that delusion has effects. In “Meetings with Remarkable Men” by G.I. Gurdjieff, praca na zmywaku za granicą there was a point in his youth when he saw a bunch of fellow children bullying a boy in the center of a circle drawn on the ground.

The boy was a Yezidi or Yazidi. If a circle was drawn around a Yezidi, he or she can not of his own volition escape from it. A Yezidi can move freely within the circle, but can not cross the line. This conditioning is so strong, that if you force a Yezidi out of the circle…he or she falls into a state of catalepsy. The group of children were terrorizing a Yezidi boy that they trapped in a circle…poking, prodding, pulling, and trying to get him to cross the line.

When Gurdjieff kicked away part of the line, the Yezidi boy ran through the gap and away as fast as he could. Now I ask you…was the Yezidi boy always free (and could leave the circle any time)? If you say “yes”, you deny how the circle trapped him. If you say “no”, you deny he could easily have physically walked out of the circle (if it were not for the thought). A simple yes or no does not suffice. It is the thought that keeps us trapped.

That is the whole point of awakening…escaping from a mental prison of our own creation. So, is the Self always free? Yes, but when the Self plays you as this body/mind…the mentally self-created prison of thought keeps this body/mind trapped. So, is the Self always awake? The Self is neither awake nor asleep…such dualistic states do not apply to the Self. However, this mind can be awake or asleep. This is why I say enlightenment comes down to realization. The mind says I have problems, I suffer, I feel trapped.

There must be the realization that this “I” is a mental illusion and there is only the Self.

Angry at Work Have a Friends Family Brainstorming Session!

Angry at Work? Have a Friends/Family Brainstorming Session! Being angry and frustrated at work is its own special brand of misery. Why? Because you can’t lash out at the co-worker or manager or VP that is driving you nuts without risking the loss of your job. Whereas at home, you can probably get plenty angry at your teenager, your spouse, or your mother, without them banishing you from their presence forever. More often than not, we just stomach whatever frustrations we endure at work.

But that’s not good for your emotional or physical well-being, nor for your home life. At some point either your health will suffer (ulcers, back-aches, insomnia, headaches, praca produkcja szwajcaria etc.) or your family will bear the brunt of your unhappiness. Not only that, but more often than not, your friends and family don’t want to hear about your anger at work. Face it, you don’t like to listen to their litany of complaints either. And a good work-life balance usually implies that you leave work—at work.

Would that it were that easy! Few of us can compartmentalize our lives that effectively. But there is a way to deal with your work anger and frustration without alienating your friends and family, indeed to actually enroll them as allies and willing helpers! First, however, you must release your fire-and-brimstone emotion. You can’t get your friends and family on your side while breathing flames. So either pound your anger out safely on a pillow named “horrible boss” on your bed, praca dla kobiet austria or write it out longhand praca w szwajcarii sprzątanie (I find large illegible scribbles particularly cathartic), or jog it out.

Whatever works for you. Just don’t Facebook, tweet, or email it unless you want the world in on your angst. Then, call a family meeting (yes, teenagers included), or meet with a friend. Tell them the problem: “My boss regularly overloads me with new work at the end of the day” “I never get the vacation slot I want” “I keep getting passed over for that promotion.” Ask for as many possible solutions as your family/friend can come up with.

Do not attempt to judge any one of them. Don’t criticize any of their offerings. Don’t offer any “Yeah, but” statements. Just write all the suggestions down. Thank everyone profusely for their input, and tell them you’ll keep them updated as to your progress. You will be amazed at the possibilities that emerge from a group brain-storming session. Even the outlandish ideas your teenagers, or your friend, or your spouse, suggest will have some grain of wisdom in them.

Or their ideas will spur more of your own. From there, you can figure out which is the best course to take.

Sitting around the house watching TV, playing endless computer games and snacking just won’t cut it any more. When he gets restless, you get restless. If he’s got more time than he knows what to do with, you should be considering after school programs – anything that will keep him busy for a few life-saving hours! Most after school activities can be broadly classified into three types: educational, recreational and society-oriented.

The third type usually comes in when your child is already a bit more grown up and can voice his own interests. Let’s concentrate on the other two for now. Educational Activities Educational activities aim at furthering your child’s knowledge. Her general awareness, her understanding and her memory are targeted and she is given a variety of techniques that will help her improve one or all of these.

Programs such as intensive memory training and learning speed mathematics are educational after school activities. There are also academic programs that will go over your child's homework and review class work to help her gain more in-depth knowledge in her studies. In general, academic programs have a definite edge over fun and games, if parents feel that their child has a lot of catching up to do. But fun and games also have a place in a child’s life.

Recreational Activities Recreational activities include sports and games, fine arts, painting, dance, etc. The main thrust here is to have fun, and mastering new skills helps your child become well-rounded. Of course, classes become more competitive as he climbs up the ladder. As a bonus, many sporting events, competitions, stage performances and the like are held to encourage your child in his pursuits. When we compare the merits of the two kinds of activities, there should be a balance in your child’s life and recreational activities should be added to the daily grind of academics.

They certainly are more often requested by your son or daughter and they provide a different kind of activity for them. Children don’t enjoy learning unless they themselves feel curious about something. Many academic programs are standardized courses that are not too flexible. They have a general purpose and a well laid out methodology. After a full day at school, your child may feel bored.
